DISCIPLESHIP AS A "MARATHON"
Several times in the Bible, reference is made to spiritual milk and to spiritual food. Often the author that uses these metaphors is urging their audience to "move from elementary things" on to maturity, in the same way newborn babies eventually leave behind their bottle for "real" food.
Our goal at Greenridge is to assist you in the long-term "marathon" growth that is vital to Christian discipleship. Growing in Christ is an ongoing process; one that takes an entire lifetime to accomplish. Click on the following links to learn about the "marathon" options that we offer to support you as you continually strive to become like the One who made you.
LIFE GROUPS
Life Groups are the "point of the arrow" of discipleship at Greenridge Baptist. We believe that Christians grow best in fellowship with one another and that if you are serious about becoming like Christ you must join and learn with other like-minded believers. Within Life Groups you will find teaching, encouragement, accountability, fellowship, and support (with a whole lot of fun thrown in). Below is our current listing of Life Groups. Feel free to email Brandon for assistance in finding the perfect fit.

SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
Many years ago, a pastor named Richard Foster wrote a book entitled Celebration of Disciplines that forever changed the discipleship landscape. In the book, Foster argued that before one grew in Christ they must develop daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly habits that opened up channels of effective growth. Although these "disciplines" are things you've most likely done before (prayer, fasting, study, confession), Foster will challenge you to do them more and more as you grow in Christ. Interested in partnering with fellow Christians in reading and implementing these disciplines? Send an email to learn about our next study group. One-on-one study/encouragement is also available.
MENTORSHIP/ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAM
Paul had Timothy... David had Jonathon... Bert had Ernie.
The amazing thing about Christian accountability and/or mentorship is that when you partner up with a fellow believer in a committed discipleship relationship, both parties benefit. Within the relationship you will be encouraged, prayed for, and motivated to leave behind the "good" to strive for the "best." Interested in getting involved, either as a "pourer" or as a "pour-ee"? Please click here to provide basic information so that we can help you find the perfect mentor match.
